It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joan Conway, who departed this life on November 12, 2025, at the age of 78 in Middlesbrough. Joan was a beloved member of her family and community, and her absence will be felt by many.

Born in Middlesbrough, Joan dedicated her life to both her family and her career. She was a graduate of the local university, where she earned a degree in Education. For over three decades, she worked as an esteemed teacher, inspiring generations of students with her passion for learning and dedication to their success.

Beyond her professional achievements, Joan was actively involved in various community initiatives, including charity work that assisted underprivileged children. She was a passionate advocate for education and believed in the transformative power of knowledge. Her hobbies included gardening and painting, which allowed her to express her creativity and find joy in everyday life.

Joan is survived by her loving husband, Michael Conway, and their three children, Sarah, James, and Emily, along with five cherished grandchildren who were the light of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Margaret, and her sister, Ann.

A memorial service celebrating Joan's life will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Middlesbrough on November 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to come and honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Middlesbrough Education Fund, a cause that was dear to Joan's heart.
