It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Doug Lebda, age 55, on October 12, 2025, in Raleigh. Doug was a beloved husband, father, and esteemed entrepreneur whose contributions to the community and industry will be remembered fondly.

Born on January 29, 1970, in Syracuse, New York, Doug spent much of his life in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. He pursued his academic ambitions at Bucknell University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, further honing his skills with an Executive MBA from the Darden School of Business.

Doug was best known as the owner of LendingTree, a company that transformed the landscape of online lending. His innovative spirit and commitment to helping others were evident not only in his professional achievements but also through his dedication as a mentor, inspiring students to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams and fostering a culture of innovation.

In 2018, Doug was honored when he was named one of the Most Admired CEOs by the Charlotte Business Journal, a testament to his leadership and impact in the business community. His legacy extends beyond his professional life, as he was a devoted family man and a nurturing presence in the lives of those he loved.

Doug is survived by his devoted wife, Megan, and his cherished daughters, Rachel and Sophia. He was also preceded in death by his late daughter, Abby, whose memory will forever be in the hearts of her family. A memorial service to honor Doug's life and legacy will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a local charity of choice in Doug's memory.

Doug Lebda leaves behind a legacy rich in love, mentorship, and the spirit of innovation that will continue to inspire all who knew him. His presence will be deeply missed but his impact will undoubtedly endure.
